Post-Conventions Update
New T-Shirts now available in the US webstore, plus REVIEWS!
Ropecon and Gen Con went really well, then I came home and allowed fatigue to sweep over me since it’s all about the Lost Carcosa release now… finally recorded an update video:
See that snazzy shirt I’m wearing? You can get it through the LotFP US Webstore now!
I’ve been told that the rest of the Lost Carcosa print run and slipcases are now done and I should have a delivery date set today, and when the books are delivered I will make another post here about the on-sale date. Everything is printed and complete (I was told the day I came back from Gen Con, August 4, that the binding of the remainder of the print run was still in progress, and that the slipcases were just then starting to be worked on! European summer vacations are a real thing. For everyone else.)
It’s going to be crazy time here very soon. Finally!
I also recorded a Darkthrone review I’ve been sitting on the script on for like a month. I write what I think is this great script and then I had to fumble through actually saying the lines with the correct emphasis and effect, for some reason it’s different with reviews than it is just telling stories. And I realized I went on a tangent in this “great script” without making the point of the tangent so had to throw that in. Anyway, watch me behave like METAL COP.
It’s funny, a few years back, I think before I started going to a million local shows, I had the attitude that I was too harsh back in my zine days about all the ‘ok’ albums that I shit all over. Years of immersing myself in a largely non-ambitious music scene has brought that nasty side back out. Why can’t things be good? Or barring that, why can’t they at least be interesting? It really isn’t that hard. I know. I make stuff!
oh, before I got the dumb idea to put media reviews on the LotFP channel, I did a book review on my other channel last year. Looking at this thumbnail now, I’m wondering why I started with the color lighting I don’t really know how to do very well since this looks clear and fine, and then I remember that I have piles of shit in this corner so I can’t sit there, and for some reason I thought the plain white lighting looked a lot worse in the other room.
OK, enough with my metal obsession. Here are a couple of LotFP reviews from the past few weeks. That Nebulith one is almost an hour long!
oh my god they’ve made youtube worse. Now it saves timestamps of where you were stopped watching last IN THE URL so just copying the URL to share with others either requires editing the URL or clicking buttons below the video to get to the untimestamped URL.
Either companies just make arbitrary changes to justify paying their staff when there’s not much real work to do, or a lot of people are using these platforms in ways that I have no use for but I wish people would just leave shit alone.
